Capillary validation methods
Background
Compare results obtained from venous blood against results detected from capillary blood ie from the fingertip. The capillary tubes contain lithium based gel which acts as an anticoagulant.
Method
Venous and capillary blood samples are taken at the same time from the same person where the venous sample is analysed within 4 hours, and the capillary sample after 120 hours. (5 days).
Results and conclusion
The results were compared using an alternative method comparison in an EP evaluation and a correlation factor of ≥ 0.95 (95% accuracy, or higher) is the basis for acceptable similarity.All capillary analyzes Tigeni offers has an accuracy of 95% or higher compared to the venous samples with which it was compared.
