Coronatest for companies

We are in the middle of a corona pandemic where the need for testing will be great in the time to come. Tigeni and Mosaic Medical therefore now offer Covid-19 testing to companies in collaboration with German accredited diagnostic laboratory, PharmGenomics GmbH, .

Tigeni offers corona testing to help with the huge need for such tests at a time when health authorities need to prioritize serious illness. In the current situation, health authorities have neither the possibility nor the opportunity to prioritise less ill people and conduct infection detection. Tigeni wants to relieve a burdened health care system, and thus contribute to the national effort to fight Covid.

The offer is specifically aimed at companies that are at risk of shutting down their business activities due to Corona infection, and where self-initiated testing can be extremely valuable for planning the organisation's further activity. Corona testing provides greater security during turbulent times, helping to break the chain of infection and reduce the risk of infection for employees.

Genetic testing of Coronavirus has been in use in Norway for a few months, and is a test where you copy part of the genetic material in the Coronavirus to document whether the person has a virus in the body or not.

Tigeni's Covid-19 test reduces the risk of infection spreading through the actual testing itself, since it is performed at home without travel and without physical contact with others. It also reduces the risk of infecting healthcare professionals during sampling.

Tigeni uses the same CE-approved test as the Norwegian health authorities.

How to take the test?

The test is performed using the nasopharyngeal swab method. It is easily taken from the nasal mucosa by the subject themself. This can be perfomed at home, either under video surveillance or in the physical presence of a qualified healthcare professional. The test can also be taken at one of the clinics we work with. The test is always taken in consultation with a company doctor, doctor at a clinic or during video consultation with health professionals working with Tigeni.

The test will be positive for patients infected with coronavirus whether they are sick or healthy. After the virus has left the body after a few days / weeks, the test will be negative.

Implementation of sampling

1. How to order the test

Receive an invitation to take the test in consultation with health professionals at the clinic, or in a video consultation with one of our partners. If a doctor decides to order a test, you will receive a link to register with Tigeni, where you can log in with bankID and enter the delivery address.

2. Receive sample at your door

The sample set is sent out express and delivered to the address you have provided within 24 hours of ordering.

3. Sampling with video consultation

After you have ordered the test, you will receive an invitation to book a video consultation with your healthcare professional to complete the test. The price includes this video consultation.

4. Return sample to laboratory

When you have completed sampling, pack the sample in the enclosed returnable packaging. One of our logistics partners arrives at the address provided in the afternoon of the same day, or in the morning the day after you registered the sample.

5. Receive results and follow-up

You will receive a test result within 3 days after the sample has been collected from you. In the event of a positive result, you will be called by health personnel. All tests are documented in the patient's own healthcare record by the doctor.

Risk of infection and quarantine

Tigeni recommends everyone follow the authorities' information and updates about corona at www.helsenorge.no.  

After exposure or suspected exposure, many are quarantined for 14 days, as this is the incubation period for the corona. A negative corona test does not mean quarantine can be broken, as the test cannot predict whether the illness will break out later after the sample has been taken.

The recommendation from (Norwegian) health authorities is that people outside risk groups with respiratory problems should stay at home for one day after they have recovered. Some of these will be infected with coronavirus, and will unfortunately be a source of infection even if they are not at work. It has also been documented that some of those infected have no symptoms of respiratory infection at all. These are perhaps the ones that spread the most infection in society today.

By lowering the threshold for testing, one can find out if people are infectious. This provides greater opportunities preventing further spread of infection in the company in particular, and society in general.

Who is the test useful for?

FOR COMPANIES - because you get a tool that maps infection status and makes it possible to use your human resources in a way that reduces further spread of infection within the company. This is crucial for many companies since lack of control of the situation increases the risk of having to reduce or shut down the business.

PEOPLE WITH Mild SYMPTOMS (such as cough, fever or shortness of breath) - because it maps out carriers and thus people can be removed from the chain of infection.
